Here's our 18 mth old Great Dane boy! Apparently dumped down by Lanagan over two weeks ago. Wandered up to an elderly couple's house, emaciated and exhausted. They gave him a blanket on their porch and have fed him several times a day for the last couple weeks. He has been health checked, vaccinated, dewormed. He had no ID and no chip. He is gentle, docile, playful, affectionate, sweet with people and canines (as most Danes are). He loves to ride in the car with his head out the window. He is VERY food oriented and left to his own devices will clean off your counter in a nano-second. (His chin is counter height!) He loves toys, blankets or cushions to lay on, and any treat or food to come his way. Anyone considering this boy needs to have a large "open" floor plan in their home (no knick-nacks, which fly off the coffee table with one swing of his never ending wagging tail). He needs a large fenced yard to run in and a budget with a significant discretionary fund to pay for food, vet appointments, flea and tick preventative, and heartworm preventative. Rich and I determined his care will cost approximately $2,000 a year. He is a serious but absolutely wonderful commitment!
