Floppy Joe

Floppy Joe (aka Benny Button) is one of the happiest dogs we have ever met! He flops and flounders all over the place with his pink teddy bear (his 'security blanket') hence his nickname. Floppy was found wandering the streets of Kansas City. He was hairless, cold, hungry, and heartworm positive. He was treated for heartworms and does not have any lasting effects. Originally diagnosed with mange, after seeing a few specialists, it turns out our little Floppy was badly burned early on in his life. He is missing fur on his back and back legs, and you can see the honeycomb scarring on his skin from the burn. It is unlikely that his hair will completely grow back, but that doesn't lessen his spirits. Floppy is a favorite at the boarding facility he is staying at and continues to put a smile on the faces of everyone he meets.

Floppy must wear a coat when he goes outside in the winter and sunscreen if he goes on a long walk in the spring/summer. Other than that, you would never know the horrific life he had before he was rescued.

Floppy does well with other dogs and has been in daycare play groups, but should go to an experienced bully breed owner as he is an exuberant guy. Floppy is enrolled in basic obedience training and will have fantastic manners upon adoption. Floppy loves to share his bear with everyone and takes it everywhere he goes, even on walks.
