My Story

If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and all-around awesome companion, Finn is your guy! This handsome bully mix is just over a year old and weighs about 50 pounds of pure joy. Finn’s temperament is nothing short of amazing—he’s a gentle soul who gets along with everyone he meets. Dog-Friendly: Finn is a true friend to his four-legged pals. He’s submissive and shares his toys with ease, preferring to roll around and have fun rather than play rough. Cat-Friendly: He’s also a cat whisperer, giving them the occasional sniff but never bothering them. Kid-Friendly: With kids, Finn is nothing short of fantastic! Whether it’s a three-year-old or a seven-year-old, he’s gentle, loving, and ready for fun. Stranger-Friendly: Everyone is a friend in Finn’s book. He’s a social butterfly who loves making new acquaintances. Training Star: Finn is crate-trained and potty-trained—he’s a pro at keeping his crate clean and never has accidents in the house. Activity Preferences: This guy is a bundle of energy with a love for fetch and squeaky toys. He’ll also happily splash around in a baby pool, sticking his face in the water and playing with any leaves he finds. When he’s not busy being a water-loving goofball, he enjoys snuggle time and lounging around in the yard while you work on the garden. Ideal Home: Finn would thrive in a home with kids to dote on him and other pets to play with, but he’s equally happy as the solo star of your life. He enjoys a mix of indoor relaxation and outdoor activity, and his calm demeanor makes him a perfect housemate. Fun Fact: Finn has met pigs and finds them quite interesting—he’ll give them a sniff and then quickly scamper away if they try to sniff him back! If you’re ready to add a burst of fun and love to your home, come meet Finn. He’s ready to find his forever family and bring endless joy into your life! ???? She/He is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Unless the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will only consider applications that are within 1 hour or 40 miles of Lemont, IL. This is due to the required vetting at our partner veterinarians. If the dog or puppy is fully vetted we will allow adoptions out of state or outside of our 1 hour or 40 mile restriction. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within five days of approval. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter must be done when the rescue schedules it at one of our partner vets, microchip, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (Heartworm, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia, Lyme Disease ) and general wellness which includes dewormer, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention) *Please understand that we will spay/neuter no younger than 16 weeks but it is the rescue's discretion when the dog will get that procedure. We know that some veterinarians recommend waiting depending on the breed's projected size but as a rescue, our goal is to prevent further unwanted, "accidental" litters. Spaying and neutering also have many benefits for cancer prevention and avoiding behavioral problems. The American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association support pediatric spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs as early as 8-16 weeks of age. We always assess and speak with our partner vets when is the best time to perform this procedure. Interested? Submit an adoption application at www.rubywhiskers.org/adopt
