My Story

Felix (his nickname is Speedy) is the most loving of the four Italian Greyhound puppies. At the beginning of August he is around 6 months of age. This little guy wants to always be near your side, and greets you at the door. He loves to chase things, so a fence is a must to keep this guy in place. He is always running after one of his brother or sisters, or wrestling with them. This guy has had a little bit of leash training so far, but is not used to being alone in a kennel. He is a puppy and will have accidents, and like most IGs will be difficult to learn this. He does relieve himself outside but still has regular accidents. He hasn't seemed to catch on to the piddle pad thing like some of his siblings. Italian Greyhound puppies this small can usually only hold it for two hours at most, so they need constant attention to get them in the right habits and keep them improving. This little guy will be neutered in the middle of August, and then will be ready for adoption. We approximate based on his current size he will be around 16-20 lbs when full grown. He has been the largest of the four dogs, and weighs almost twice as much as his tiny sisters at about 10 lbs currently.

The parents and three siblings of this puppy all came from a Boxer Rescue in Rapid City, SD. Their former owners were put in a retirement home from what we are told. The dogs came to Nebraska when they were around 3 months old, and at the beginning of August were around 5 1/2 to 6 months old.

We are taking local applications for the puppies, and will give preference to those local applications due to the time and effort it takes to organize transports elsewhere. If you live in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, South or North Dakota and are interested in adopting please drop us an email. IGs are not suited for families with small children due to their fragile bones, and ability to jump around when excited.
