Luckie is a sweet, very smart and lively girl. She is housetrained and loves being inside but with her high energy level she would need a fenced yard with lots of room to run and play. She loves to play with balls and frisbies. She has a very perky personality and springs in her legs! When she gets excited she jumps up and turns flips.
Luckie wants to be always by your side “helping” you with whatever you are doing. She will be a great companion for someone who wants a lively friend with lots of personality.
The $60 adoption fee covers only the cost of her shots and spaying. Any additional would be greatly appreciated to help with food, worming and vet care. Donations can be made easily through Pay Pal on our home page at www.tgar.petfinder.com by clicking the “Make a Donation” link.
Update 10/03/05: Lukie has bonded with me and and my nephew - she stays in the yard and minds well. She did get car sick and just as I was pulling in the driveway threw up in the car. She had an accident Saturday night in the laundry room but did OK last night. She was out all day Sunday and did well - stayed around the house - she doesn't bark at the horses or try to chase them. She runs and jumps with my nephew - she did nip him on the leg playing - it didn't break the skin and he rubbed it off and kept going. She didn't play with the balls I bought. We thought she would chase and fetch. She did run in the house with my nephew and get excited. He jumped on the bed with me - she didn't jump on the bed but knipped at my quilt and tore it. So I told my nephew no more running in the house with Luckie. She seems happy and is eating well. We had a large dog pen (approx 26' X 75') right next to the barn - we are going to make that smaller - 26'X24' and extend the top of the barn for cover and put a dog house in there. That way she can stay out in pretty weather until we get home. She won't feel so locked up in the house. In bad or really hot weather she can stay in the house.
Update 10/14/05: Sorry it has taken so long to get back with you! Luckie is doing fine. She is really attached to me - but enjoys playing with my nephew Klayton. Klayton loves her and spends a lot of time with her. When we are home I let her out and she stays in our yard. If Klayton comes in the house, she sits at the back door waiting for him. Unfortunately, right now she has to stay in the laundry room during the day. We are going to get her set up in the dog run this weekend. It is next to the barn and we opened it up for the horses and have to put a section of fence back and build a cover to put the dog house under. That way she can be out during nice days and not be cooped up in the house. Thanks, Becky
