Hi there! I'm Everett, a 26-pound male Australian Shepherd. I might be a little shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I'll happily approach you for some attention. Treats are the way to my heart, and I'll be your best friend if you have some to share. I enjoy the company of other calm dogs and prefer to stay away from the high-energy ones. I'm a pretty chill fellow who just wants to hang out with a new friend. I've made a great transformation since my first grooming. When I came in, I was extremely matted and in pain, but after being groomed, my personality truly blossomed. I walk on a leash freely now and feel much more confident and happy. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
