Ernie

Ernie is almost 3 yrs old. He's an energetic dog with a big heart and a fractured past. We believe Ernie was abused by a male somewhere in his past, as he tends to be afaid and a little confrontational towards men. Ernie knows all of his obedience commands and even shakes "hands". He is housebroken and heartworm negative!! He needs work in socializing with strangers but does great with other friendly dogs. He does not like cats or small animals. He is so strong and active, he would do best with teenage children. He is currently attending socialization classes at A+ Dog Obedience on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is doing very well. Ernie is such a fun dog. He would love to play and chase toys and bring them back to you all day long. He can jump 5 feet straight up in the air when he gets really excited to see someone. In his mind he thinks he is a lap dog. A large lap dog. He can't get his whole body in someone's lap, so he is satisfied with just his front legs and chest while his back feet are on the floor. Ernie loves his foster home but would really love a forever home even more. It may take him a few days to feel comfortable with a new person, but with a little bit of patience, he will love you forever and you will love him too. Ernie needs to go to an experienced dog owner.......

Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Petco on Bay Area Boulevard. The adoption fee starts at $125. All dogs are heartworm tested, on heartguard, fixed, vaccinated, dewormed and defleaed. All dogs are microchipped.
