ENID—(ADOPTION PENDING) PUREBRED, YOUNG POCKET BEAGLE, LOVES CHILDREN, CAT FRIENDLY BEAGLE GIRL

ENID is our newest intake who came to us Thursday morning, 4/04/24, from northwest Tennessee where she was taken in by a nice lady as a stray. The lady has only cats, and one of her cats attacked Enid. So, we agreed to take this sweet girl to get her to safety. We took her immediately to our vet clinic for intake tests. She weighed in at 19.6 pounds and is estimated to be 2 to 3 years old. The lady who temporarily fostered Enid has this to say about her: “…showed up in my yard. My cat attacked her. I live on a busy road and she won't survive if she's outside by herself. Tri-county medical scanned her for a chip. Nope. But she's been fixed. She's been an inside dog. Rides great in the car and walks well on a leash but doesn't care to be picked up. Also afraid of storms." Enid tested fecal negative and heartworm positive. She has already started Doxycycline heartworm pre-treatment, which also will cure any tickborne disease, for which she also tested positive. Even though her fecal was negative, we treated her with Drontal Plus dewormer, because not all intestinal parasites show up in a fecal test. Drontal is the best dewormer for ALL intestinal parasites. She has been started on both heartworm preventative, required also during heartworm treatment, and flea/tick preventative. She has ear infections, expected in Beagles and already treated. She has been spayed and has had needed dentals. She is friendly to everyone, cats included, never meets a stranger. What a love she is!!!! Sooooo incredibly sweet!!!!
