My Story

Meet precious Emmy, a 2-3 year old smaller chocolate mix. She’s only 44 lbs and stands lower to the ground. When you first meet her, she acts shy. A short time later she’s a little spitfire- full of life and joy. Emmy loves to play with other dogs. She has been to dog daycare several times and is building confidence and making friends. Emmy also loves to snuggle with her foster mom. This is her first time ever in a home and she’s decided she’s a big fan of the comfortable life. She came from a property with 40 dogs living in makeshift shelters. She waited her whole life for someone to help her. She had a litter of puppies and found help in the Tunica Humane Society in Mississippi. All of her puppies found homes and Emmy came to Michigan to be fostered and to find a forever home. She adores her foster dog brother and shares toys and bones well. And she’s smaller than her pictures suggest. She rides in the car like a princess. She is crate trained and completely house trained. Walks well on a leash. And she is good at going to the Thirsty Hound and laying quietly at a table while her parents enjoy a beverage. Given her limited exposure to home life in the past, she does startle easily but that will ease with time. She’s absolutely wonderful and endearing. When Emmy finds her forever family, they be rewarded every day with a gracious and devoted companion. Up to date on vaccines and spayed. Available for adoption in SW Michigan.
