My Story

** PUPPY MILL ** Hi, my name is Emma. I am a 2 year old brindle colored English Mastiff. Don't let my breed name fool you though, I am very small for my breed. I weigh 77 lbs and should probably weigh about 90 once my foster parents get some weight on me. I love other dogs and would probably be great with kids, with supervision. ( Sometimes I knock them over by leaning on them for affection.) I could really care less about cats, but I do prefer to play with other dogs. My foster parents have 4 for me to play with! The other dogs have showed me what it is like to be a beloved pet. My first two years were really tough!!! I lived in a very small enclosure surrounded by 1,000 dogs. They used me to make puppies so they could make money. After I was no use to them, they tossed me aside to be put down. (I did not like the sound of that). Then I was saved by a wonderful person and brought into rescue. I have never even seen grass or cars 'til that day. So you can imagine how scared and nervous I was. I never lifted a paw against the people who tried to help me. Although, I gave them a hard time by not moving or walking. Hey, I have never seen a leash before either. So I spent the first few days at Spencer Rescue and lots of people looked at me, but I wasn't sure how to act, so I just sat in the back corner of my kennel. I'd wag my tail a little for a familiar face, but did not like to come out. So I was taken in by my foster parents to learn how to be a beloved pet. I am crate trained, and have had only one accident in 2 weeks! Mom says I am doing great. I can walk on a leash and when I am feeling frisky I'll pick up a toy. Doorways and TV's are no longer that scary. Some things still frighten me - so to whoever might give me a forever loving home, please, I ask patience. I am nervous about getting in a car as well as walking by them. My foster parents and their dogs are helping me overcome my fears. I am a great dog just learning how to become a pet so if you are interested please contact my foster dad at 618-541-5336 or foster mom at [email protected] This English Mastiff is current on all vacs and spayed. Her adoption fee is $200
