Meet Ellie! Our current foster, this beautiful, sweet girl is only about 2 years old but she's had a tough go of it in her short life. Her original owner was elderly and passed away with her in the home which caused her to have some pretty bad separation anxiety. She was then passed between a few remaining family members but it wasn't a good fit and has caused her to be a little hesitant to put her trust in people again. We're working on it and she's came a long way in a short time. She does great with females, but is scared of men at first and needs time to build trust. Once she trusts you she will follow you everywhere and is very content to just be near her people. She would be perfect for someone retired looking for a best friend or companion or in a home where you can work from home or be able to take her with you since she doesn't like being left alone for long periods, a few hours is fine after she gets comfortable and acclimates to her new environment. She loves kids has been awesome with male dogs and cats but would be best in a home without another female dog.
