Elfie

Hello my name is Elfie! I found myself at the shelter just in time for the holidays and then I found out just because I have a little back problem, I would not be going to adoptions!! Yikes! I found my way into foster care and since my rescue date was 12/24 and my ears (much like those of an Italian Greyhound - flying nun look) gave me a mischievous look, I took on the name Elfie, I have learned to wear it well! I am an approx. 5 year old neutered red male mini dachshund. I have a couple of 'saddle bag' markings on either side that are black in color. I am a very petite 7 lb. boy that is current on my shots. I get along well with cats, dogs of all sizes, and parrots! I do not love the crate, but I love the couch and your lap! I have no problem getting around dispite some discs in my back that cause me weakness and an occassional criss-cross of my hind legs. I do all my business on my own outside. I'll do stairs (but I shouldn't), I'll jump off a couch (but I shouldn't) I'll go on a long walk (but I shouldn't) I'll snuggle with you in bed (that is a MUST). For now my 'condition' is stable. I move as fast as anyone else in my foster home! I take a little pain med first thing in the morning and I'm set all day.
