Ebony is an exquisitely beautiful 12 month old Black German Shepherd Dog female. She is lovely to watch as she seems to glide across the yard. Her gait is like a soft dance as she gracefully moves her coat looks like fine silk.
Ebony is not "just" beautiful, she is extremely intelligent. She is quick to look at a challenge and solve it. Ebony would love the challenge of formal obedience training. She also seems to have abilities that could be encouraged and trained for some service dog work. Ebony is very good at solving questions in her mind of "How do I open this?"
Ebony, like all German Shepherd Dogs, needs to be an inside family member. When she was left outside as a "yard dog", Ebony found a way to open gates and enclosures. She just wanted to be with her people.
Often a dog who is said to be "an escape artist" is actually a bored dog who needs to interact with her people inside the home and who needs a job to do. Ebony will need a secure fence when she is alone outside. She will do best with an electric fence....Here with Mom she is safe inside a hot wire fence when she is outside.
Ebony is young and energetic. She has an EasyWalker Harness that halts her desire to pull on lead. This harness will go with Ebony when she is adopted. Ebony is a happy healthy puppy who needs the love and attention of her own person or family to shepherd. Again, Ebony is very intelligent and quick to learn. Her learning needs love and structure. She has a strong desire to learn and to please her person.
Ebony is house trained and crate trained, though any time in a crate should be kept short and made to be a fun activity. Ebony is surprisingly calm for her age in the house. She does well and enjoys sleeping in Mom's bedroom.
Ebony enjoys the company of other dogs, however she loves the attention of humans best.
I do not know how Ebony would do with cats. She will likely want to chase them and would consider a cat a toy. This might be fun for Ebony, however could prove harmful to a cat.
Ebony would ride best in a car either in a crate or with a Doggie Seatbelt. She is still too much of an active puppy who wants to explore everything to just lie down and enjoy the ride. This may come as she matures.
Ebony will only be adopted as a valued inside family member where the German Shepherd Dog is known and loved.
