My Story

APRIL 3, 2005: EAGLE IS ADOPTED! FEBRUARY 17, 2005:

Eagle is a trained sled dog. He is 3 years old. Eagle came to the Fairbanks shelter because a musher reduced his kennel. He is good with kids and dogs, unknown with cats. Eagle is a little shy but minds well.

Eagle went mushing with our volunteers on February 12th:
"This guy did great!!! I ran him in lead and he did very well, even held out the team when we were stopped. He is a stocky little boy, about 50lbs. He has tons of drive and loves to go. Eagle isn't likely a sprinter, (although he is fast enough for an eight dog rec team), and seems to be able to make up for that in distance. He has a nice gait and is a good hard worker. Eagle is really easy to handle, well mannered, friendly and fine with other dogs. I recommend this guy for any rec or distance type team. We went about 5 miles today and he led for half of the run."

In order to adopt an SCL dog, see "How To Adopt" and download an Adoption Application; we can't consider you without one!
