Dwight

Dwight is incredibly sweet and loves everyone he meets. He's definitely not shy and will immediately start licking anyone. His manners are amazing and keeps all four paws on the floor. Instead of jumping when he's excited, he does the best little dance with his front paws. He respects gates and crates, doesn't try to jump over them or knock them down. He's fully crate trained and is quiet and relaxed in his crate. It's his safe space so he even naps in there naps with the door open. He is potty trained as long as someone pays attention to his cues (he gets a little whiney & antsy when he wants to go out). He's working on his confidence to go out in the fenced backyard by himself without a human to stand next to him. Food, treats and toys are high value and precious to him, and he doesn't want to share. He needs a space by himself to eat/drink and then all bowls, toys, bones need to be put away when other dogs are around. We recommend a home without small children. Dwight is about a year old and has very puppy-like tenancies and can be a little mouthy at times (just using his mouth, not biting). Dwight was mostly bones and a giant head when he left the shelter thanks to a nasty intestinal parasite. He's been treated for the parasite and is working towards a healthy 70lbs for his frame. Dwight is fully vaccinated and his neuter surgery is scheduled for the beginning of December.
