Dusty

Hi, my name is Dusty! I am 8 months old as of April 2024 and I weigh 42 lbs. I'm a social, adventurous, outdoorsy pup who loves greeting people and other friendly pups alike. I love going out for hikes, playing with water, and I ride well in a car. The nice people at the shelter have said that I'm an awesome guy and very smart because I quickly learned how to walk on a leash. They also introduced me to a cat and were impressed with how well-behaved I was. My ideal person or family would always be up for an adventure yet be patient with me as I gain confidence living indoors. Right now, doorways are a bit scary to me because they are unfamiliar. However, it's nothing that positive reinforcement and lots of treats can't overcome. Update from Dusty's foster mom: Dusty is very nice, and I'd love for him to be in a knowledgeable home. He's a little more reserved, and a little slower to recover in scary situations. I think he'll be a fantastic dog for a family that's a little more aware of body language and will help him continue to build confidence in a positive way. He's also athletic but he hasn't tried to climb the fence :).
