My Story

Update: Dumpling/Sam has been doing great in her foster home. She is a very friendly girl who is now housetrained. Her foster family has worked hard with her to get her use to home life, and she is ready to set off for a home of her own. Once you meet this cute sweet girl, I am sure you will fall in love.

Dumpling/Sam has been retired from breeding and was given to rescue to hopefully find a new start to her life.  She has spent the first part of her life in a breeding facility, and is now getting the love and care she needs to thrive.  She will require a bit more socialization with people, and some patience to learn about living in a house instead of a cage.  She is good with other dogs.  She is in a foster home and doing well with her housetraining and socialization.  She is quite a sweet bichon who is on the smaller size, making her even cuter.  She is around 6 years old - we don't have an exact age on her.

The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies rescue is $315, which includes WI sales tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who, before going home, will be spayed/neutered, vet checked, updated on vaccines, heartworm tested, microchipped, and dewormed.  Any other medical treatment will be taken care of as well.  Most retired breeders need dentals done.  She has very bad teeth, and she will be much happier once her teeth are taken care of.  She will also have a mammary tumor removed when she is spayed.  Other common ailments treated often include ear infections, eye infections, and hernia repairs.  We try to have all dogs bathed/groomed prior to going to their new home.  Grooming is donated by Tammie at Groom'n Time Pet Spa (www.gtpetspa.com ).

To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you will also receive a 7-8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training at no additional charge.  This course is donated by For Pet's Sake, and may be used at any of their locations within 3 months of adoption.  Visit www.forpetssake.cc for more information on the classes.  At the Mukwonago location there is a special Shy Dog Class for dogs such as Dumpling/Sam who need some extra work on just learning to relax around people, and overcoming things they might be afraid or shy of such as loud noises.

All dogs are seen by appointment only.  Many are in various foster homes getting extra one on one attention getting them ready for their new homes.  If you would like to meet with one of the dogs, or learn more about any of them, please fill out a pre-adoption application first.  This must be submitted and reviewed before we set up a meet and greet appointment.  Bichon and Little Buddies is run by a group of dedicated volunteers who have full time jobs besides the hours we spend doing rescue.  Having an application on file assures us interest in adopting a dog, and assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy.  Filling out the application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog.

The pre-adoption applicaiton can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com

The form may then be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to For Pet's Sake, 828 Perkins Dr #200, Mukwonago, WI 53149
