My Story

Duke is a purebred German Wirehaired Pointer and is probably about one year old. He was picked up near Trenton, Utah last week by animal control but never claimed.

Duke is a beautiful dog with lots of energy (as most of these dogs are). He is a fairly large dog at 65-70 lbs. He appears to have received little training or socialization with other dogs. He is very friendly with people but has been aggressive with his foster dad's other dogs. He might be best placed in a home as the only dog or someone who can keep them separated when unsupervised. He is very responsive and smart. He learned to kennel in just a couple sessions. This dog will need a home were he can get lots of exercise and attention.

From his foster dad's early impression, he will make a good bird hunting dog. He is very interested in birds (he chased some sharptails and pointed one pheasant) and he has nice search pattern. He does not seem to have a hard mouth, but needs to be trained to retrieve and of course lots of additional obedience training.

The adoption fee for this dog is $150 which includes the spay/neuter. We show dogs by appointment only. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Lisa at (435) 752-3534 (leave message) or email us at [email protected].
