Duke is an approximately 2 year old Basset surrendered by his owner to a rural shelter that has a heart for hounds. He was a “back yard” dog before and came to us not knowing a lot about living the good life. He can be a little slow to trust new people but once he lets you in he is the sweetest guy. He loves pets, especially belly rubs and ear scratches. He has taken very well to potty training with a regular schedule and keeps a clean kennel. He loves dogs and plays well with most anyone, big or small. He is bad about jumping up on people and counter surfing, but corrects well and is learning that if he avoids the temptation he is more likely to get pets and treats. He loves napping and has a few favorite beds with us that he is known to frequent for a nice long snooze.
