My Story

When you wish upon a star. Makes no difference who you are. Anything your heart desires, will come to you. We are putting Duey, a ten-month-old hound mix on the path to find and make his dreams come true. We know there is a love connection for him, and his family will delight in the love that only Duey can give. Duey is no stranger to love and wishes only to love and be loved. He is a quiet boy that will thrive well in a quiet house. He currently weighs around 33 pounds but is expected to be a medium size dog of up to 60 pounds when fully grown.Duey is a shy pup that will need slow introductions to new places, people and other dogs. He does well in the company of dogs and children and is respectful of cats! He does well riding in the car and will settle in to take a nap. Has mastered sit, paw, down, wait, and has a great recall. He is greatly food motivated so that helps in Duey learning all he needs to know and more. He also has excellent social skills with other dogs, loves to play, often initiates play, and loves to chew on Benebones. Duey does not shy away from responsibility and has achieved gold status with his house, crate and leash training. Although he is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. He really enjoys going for walks and has an adorable behavior with certain outdoor structures like stone walls. He likes to sneak a peak over them. As with all puppies, Duey is full of curiosity and wonderment, and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. He will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize him so that he can become the perfect lifelong companion. Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through. When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true. He is a firm believer of fate and destiny. Be a part of his happily ever and get the best cuddler and hugger canine. Apply for Duey today! The adoption fee for Duey is $500.
