Dude need a quiet/low traffic home. No small children and prefer no other pets.
Dude is still just the sweetest old man dog. We meet my neighbor on our walk the other day. Dude went right up to him and sniffed him, but did not want any pets, but at the end of our visit dude did let him give him a pat on the side, which is pretty good for Dude. On walks we have come across cats but they have always been pretty far away. The other day there was a cat in the middle of the road and was not moving. Dude was like a pack of wild horses, he couldn't get away from the cat fast enough. So based on this one time interaction it seem like Dude would stay far away from any cat in his household. Dude has never had any hint of being destructive in the house, but we typically lock him in his crate when we leave just to keep him crate trained, but lately we have left him out when we go out for short trips and there has not been any issue. He is just waiting for us by the door when we come in. So again, if you have some patients to get to know Dude and want a great walking companion and an older dog that likes to play and cuddle up next to you, Dude is your guy.
