All Planned Pethood dogs and puppies are altered (spayed/neutered) and fully vetted prior to adoption. Dog breed is a best guess by the vet and/or Petfinder breed expert findings. We cannot guarantee breed, weight, age of dogs or final adult size of puppies.

Drexel is probably a mix of Norwegian Elkhound and Pug. Norwegian Elkhounds are known for their strong personalities and Drexel is no exception. He requires firm guidance, but learns quickly and easily and remembers well. As a working and hunting breed, Drexel needs to be given jobs to do, even if those jobs are simply obedience chores or a game of fetch. He never tires of exercise, so if you're a jogger, hiker or hunter, Drexel's your man! Drexel is really an adult companion canine. He will reliably alert his family to visitors arriving at your door, yet he'll not be barking at everyone that walks down the street. Drexel's eager to please and adjusts well to new situations. Norwegian Elkhounds, as a breed, tend to view small animals as prey, so cats, hamsters, etc, .are not recommended. If you value loyalty, intelligence, eagerness to please and a tireless companion, Drexel would make a valuable addition to your family.
