My Story

Please contact foster at [email protected] Meet Dot, a sweet 1-year-old pit mix with so much love to give. Scared in the shelter, Dot is learning to open up and be a dog again. Although timid, Dot is a curious girl who has been enjoying exploring her new foster home and backyard. All she wants is a patient, calm family to give her the reassurance and comfort she needs. So far in foster, shes made great strides, pushing herself each day and slowly opening up. Be gentle with her, and she will melt your heart. Desperately wanting to please you, she takes correction very well and backs off if you tell her no. Shes a lower- medium energy dog, and she does open up more around other dogs. She loves napping and relaxing in her room, as well as being close to you. Chicken nuggets, whipped cream, or a duck foot are keys to her heart, and shell take them so gently. Shes shown positive body language towards other dogs and is eager to meet our resident dog, opening up on parallel walks with him. After their walk, they hung out together, respecting each others space. A confident dog sibling would help show her the ropes and pull her out of her shell. She did meet a neighbors cat outside and was fixated on it, so she might not do well with cats; however, without testing her indoors, its too soon to say for sure. Dot is housetrained, and shes working on her crate training and basic commands. She does go in her crate where she sleeps solidly throughout the night. An added bonus, shes extremely quiet: while Ive heard her cry a little when she first goes into her kennel, she settles in, and Ive never heard her bark. Additionally, I have not seen any resource-guarding tendencies with either toys or food. Sweet, shy, submissive, curious Lower-medium energy House-trained Dog-friendly Very quiet Takes correction well beautiful, soft coat Working on crate training and basic commands Looking for a calm, reassuring family to help with confidence
