"But together they moved through the world quite easily, two small halves of courage making a brave whole."

Introducing Dorky and Jody!
These two absolutely wonderful. loving, happy, sweet dogs were once a breeding pair on a Pennsylvania farm. Jody was about four years old when Dorky arrived as a puppy to the farm. She raised him as she raised many puppies of her own before him and the two of them became inseparable.
When Dorky reached maturity, the two became a pair of puppy producers. Both raised their mixed breed litters together in a barn. They were gentle and loving and protective of their babies. Over time the puppies didn't sell very well and Dorky and Jody would get into mischief in the woods when they would escape the confines of the barn. A volunteer responded to a call to find rescue for an older litter of their puppies and after many visits and conversation and lots of education, a younger litter of puppies was also handed over at no charge to the volunteer.
But that didn't solve a problem. The problem was that mixed breed puppies who were not selling and were being produced by two dogs who clearly needed medical care needed to stop producing. It took time and education, but Dorky and Jody were given up to receive medical care. Jody was to get spayed, and they wanted her returned as the farm dog. Dorky was only to be returned if he was vet checked and deemed as a suitable stud dog. He was not so he was neutered and needed a home. But when Jody was spayed a mammary mass was discovered and removed so a conversation happened with the farmer about not having her return to live alone in the barn.
After education and deciding that investing in a proper kennel was not an investment they wanted to make, they chose to surrender Jody as well and that ended breeding on the farm.
So now this incredible pair is looking to retire together to live a happy and cozy life indoors where they will never be apart and enjoy cozy days in a loving home with a fenced yard to explore. They do everything together and love the humans who care for them. After a hard life as busy parents they are now looking to be the ones who are pampered.
