My Story

Meet Dora! She is an approximately 7-month-old Shepherd/Mix who is eagerly awaiting to be your new best pal! Although Dora had a rough start in life, her past certainly does not hold her back. Once found abandoned in a dumpster area, she now is enjoying the finer things in life- snuggles, treats and lots of love from her people. Dora is a sweet, smart puppy that has already mastered crate training and house training! She has not had a single accident while in foster care and is the perfect work from home buddy. And when it comes to exploring...well....Dora the explorer truly lives up to her name!! She enjoys adventuring with long walks around her new neighborhood (in between naps of course!) and is curious about all the new smells, people and pups she meets along the way. This girl is one of the most well behaved pups her foster parents have ever had! Dora will stay quietly in her crate for short periods of time during the day while her foster family is out. She will also sleep soundly in her crate overnight, curled up like a donut and loves to make herself cozy in her bed. Dora is being fostered with a four legged foster sister and enjoys her company. If you are looking for a sweet as pie gal pal, Dora is your girl!! Dora is being fostered in Jersey City, New Jersey. Her adoption fee is $500.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
