Dooley is an incredibly lovable and sweet little 1.5 year old, almost white Lab. At a perfect 48 pounds he is indeed a smaller sized pup. So eager to please and know that he's a good boy, Dooley came to us from a situation where he was neither wanted nor loved as a family pet. A sensitive Lab by nature, he was rejected for failing to live up to expectations to be a "hunting dog" when the loud sound of a gun frightened him. Now in his loving foster home, his confidence is growing daily and it's wonderful to see him begin to enjoy life as a Lab should. Each day he is becoming more playful, but easily settles ready for some loving.
Dooley is housetrained and very comfortable in his crate. He knows sit, stay and down. He loves his walks with his foster brother and is delightful on the leash. Dooley is great with other dogs and is beginning to initiate play. He's somewhat interested in retrieving. A polite boy, he waits to be invited on the furniture. Dooley makes friendly eye contact and at this point is more comfortable with women. Although we must say, he does snuggle right up to his foster dad for some loving now that they have a trusting relationship.
Dooley is submissive by nature, very affectionate and craves being touched; he even enjoys having his teeth brushed! Dooley will thrive with a forever family where there is another dog to show him "life is good" from a dog's eye view. Kind, consistent, low key leadership with structure is just the ticket to help Dooley's confidence grow. Harsh words have no place in Dooley's life, only kindness.
Lovable, eager to please, playful and a sensitive soul eager to know he's a good boy, Dooley is truly a little treasure who deserves the good life with a loving family that every Lab should have.
