My Story

Domino is a real little know-it-all, he knows his basic commands, he knows how to walk on a leash, he knows how to behave inside, he knows not to use the bathroom inside, and he knows to be good in his crate. All of this and he’s still a baby, what more could you wish for. Domino was discovered with his brother by kind Samaritans in some woods just outside of a subdivision in Benton, Arkansas. When found, both were in poor condition and needed immediate medical attention to avert a medical crisis. Domino and his brother responded well, and thanks to the kindness and care of their rescuers, they have both made a complete recovery. Domino’s brother has been adopted, and so now it’s Domino’s turn to find his new family and home. It’s sometimes hard to tell what the heritage is of a multi-breed as young as Domino, but a good best guess is that Domino is a Labrador Retriever Blue Heeler mix. He’s still a little shy with strangers at first meeting, but he soon warms into a playful and friendly little guy. He’s apparently very intelligent, because after only a couple of weeks in foster, he’s already learned his basic commands and is house broken. Domino will make an excellent house companion. He loves to chase anything that squeaks. He loves other dogs, but his size right now makes it difficult for him to play with the larger dogs in the neighborhood. When he gets tired he wants to curl up on your lap or lay next to you on the sofa. Although he dislikes loud sudden noise, he is doing great with the vacuum cleaner and hair dryer sounds, but slammed doors will make him run. Domino loves to chase balls, toys and right now falling leaves. The neighborhood kids come up everyday after school and take turns "puppy" setting for the afternoon. He chases them at the park and plays in the creek. When he was first discovered, Domino was dehydrated and starving. His rescuers have treated him for worms and had him tested for all known medical issues before he was introduced to their four dogs. He still needs to gain weight as his hips and ribs are visible. Domino has been getting feedings three times a day with a mixture of high calorie wet food and puppy dry. Clearly Domino is doing very well and should be ready to meet his new family in no time at all. Domino is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, and may not be attending the DogsOnly adoption showings at Petco in west Little Rock. If you would like to learn more or even meet him you can send an email to his rescuers at [email protected] You may also want to complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored text links at the top or bottom of his official bio page located at http://www.dogsonly.org/232pop.html, or send an email to [email protected]. Your application or emails will be sent to Domino's rescuers without delay.
