Dixie fka Brie

Meet Dixie! Dixie was rescued off the streets of Houston, Texas where she was dumped as a pregnant mom. She had her babies near a person's house, who gave them all away, and then wanted rid of her. Humans have failed Dixie so much in her short life. We think she is approximately 1-2 years old and 40 lbs. We are unsure of her breed. We think she is pit/staffy mix with a little boxer and maybe even catahoula. All just guesses. She would be a fun pup for a DNA test! All we know is she is 100% cute and sweet. We call her our little "short stack" because she is very short and "compact". ha. Dixie is a very sweet and happy girl. She is very friendly and loves making new friends. She loves to greet you and enjoys her crate time (which she will happily go to when told) content to play with her stuffies. Need help cleaning? She will collect any and all stuffies lying around and bring them to her crate. She will also bring them out to proudly display them to you. She is so sweet and just wants to be loved. Her ideal family would likely be one where she is the only dog or one or two other dogs around her size or bigger to play with. Cats are ok but she can be curious with them. Her foster family has many cats but she does get a little excited around a couple of them. We think she would like to make friends and just forgets her size. She is very smart and knows some basic commands. She does like to hold on to her toys and jumps a little. So she just needs some patience and consistent training. She listens well and is easily corrected. Dixie is just the best little pup. She was such a good, young mama. It's her turn to have a great family where she can enjoy just being a good pup!
