My Story

Dinah is a lovely Golden mix girl who may have Sheltie in her parentage. She's medium sized, still thin at 47 lbs. Should get to 50-55 lbs after her pups are weaned. She has medium length, auburn hair w/ black overcasts on her points. Having recently had her 1st birthday, she's very playful & as sweet as she can be! Her submissive nature means she gets along wonderfully w/ people, dogs & cats. She absolutely adores her foster brothers & would like to have another dog to play w/ in her new home. Dinah was found as a stray by a rural Humane Society in West Virginia. Not knowing she was pregnant, they gave her the only space available-- an outside dog house-- in freezing weather. It was better care than she'd had previously-- she had shelter, love, kindness & good nutrition. On February 21st, Dinah surprised the staff w/ 4 newborn pups, so they sent out an emergency request for a warm, indoor foster home. Dinah was an amazingly devoted mom, especially considering her very young age. 2 pups were born w/ defects that prevented them from nursing & had to be humanely euthanised by a vet. Being a sensitive soul, Dinah missed those 2 pups & mourned for them. But she continued to take excellent care of her 2 remaining girls, who are strong & healthy. (See Hippo & Squeaker) In her past, Dinah didn't have the care or love she deserves. The lucky adopter who gives her a permanent home will be rewarded w/ her total affection & devotion. Dinah is housetrained. UTD, treated for fleas & worms. Records available from 2 vet check ups. Needs to be spayed as soon as pups are weaned.
