My name is Diesel and I’m looking for my forever home. I am 5 years old and I weigh 33 lbs. I came to my SIRA foster home here in Fenton, MO, from a commercial breeding facility where I helped make puppies. Living in a home is new for me, and I’m still pretty jumpy around loud noises and sudden movements. And I get anxious sometimes – but that’s to be expected, since I’m still adjusting to a whole new world. But I’m getting more used to things each day and foster mom is helping me to relax and have fun. I’ve figured out how kind humans can be and how much I love soaking in that kind of love and attention. Yeah, I’m a loverboy. I’ll even jump up on the couch to be close to my foster family. My other favorite thing is being outside in the fenced yard here. OMG! I love, love, love to run and leap and play! I’m a quiet and well-behaved boy. I am house trained and I sleep through the night in my crate with no complaints. I don’t bark or make noise. I love being with other dogs and I am good with cats. I don’t pay much attention to them at all. I haven’t been around any human kids though, so I don’t know how I’d be with them. I’m starting to learn how to walk on a leash and my forever family will need to continue to practice with me so I become a pro. In the meantime, I’ll need a securely fenced yard and a family committed to being careful so I don’t accidentally slip through an open door or hole in a fence. I’d love to have a nice dog to be my friend and play with, but foster mom thinks I’d do okay without one as long as my humans have plenty of time to play with me. I am a healthy boy – neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
