I may be a middle aged girl but I've got the energy of a pup to go along with my wisdom. I love the outdoors and belly rubs and love having human friends around to hang out with.I pull at my harness when we walk but it's only because I love being out in this beautiful world of ours! A little tug on the leash will remind me to slow down and walk with you.I looove to run! I'm very fast but I know you're slower than me so I'll run at whatever pace you choose. I even run in my sleep. Did I mention I hold the record for fastest mile ever? ...at ACCT Philly that is.I get very excited when I see other dogs. Pets and reassurance that we're safe keep me calm until the other dog passes.I love humans of all shapes and sizes. Big or small we get along great. I always want to be in the room with you, unless maybe there's something exciting outside the window.I like to cuddle and I love a good belly rub. Don't worry, I make it easy for you to reach and am happy to lean into you to make you feel loved too. I also use pillows like humans do so you're going to have to share.I'm very patient and very gentle. I'll wear silly things for photos, I take treats nicely, if my nails are too long I'll let you cut them, and I'll even let you pick me up and carry me around if that's really what you want to do.I'm not at all food aggressive. I once found a tasty chicken bone on the Philly streets but my foster dad caught me in the act. He told me no so I let him open my mouth to take it out. I think I earned an extra treat later for being so nice about it. I think he wanted it for himself.I'm learning lots of new tricks at my foster home. I'm a pro at sit, come, and paw. I know wait for walks when we need to stop at a corner and look to get my attention. I know what stay means but it's just so hard to stay when there are treats to be had! I'm working on it. Diamond saw another dog and the adopter held Diamond between her legs. She states she's taken Diamond out on runs before, and Diamond hasn't reacted like this. When the other dog owner was trying to pass Diamond disregarded the fact that adopter was trying to hold her back and dragged adopter which lead to her scraping her back. Diamond jumped on the other dog and an officer ran up on the scene and maced Diamond in the face to get the dogs off of each other. While the dogs were tangled together and both owners were trying to separate the dogs, the other owner got bit by his own dog and Diamond's adopter got bit on the right thumb by Diamond. Diamond did not continue the attack on the adopter; it was a quick redirection bite.This animal is currently available through ACCT Philly's Adoptions Programs.
