My Story

Diamond's picture just doesn't do her justice. She's a petite little girl about 10 lbs. with legs a little taller than a chihuahua and a 2 inch tail that wiggles all the time. She was dumped like garbage with her two babies at a high kill Southern shelter. Her babies got adopted but Diamond was headed for a terrible fate. Over 80 percent of the animals entering this shelter are euthanized. This little girl just loves to be loved. She would rather cuddle than eat. She gets along well with most other dogs and pretty much ignores cats. She is friendly towards everyone after a brief introduction. She was found to be a weak heartworm test positive, but does not have the heartworm microfilariae in her blood. She can be treated by just giving her routine heartworm medication . It is now generally accepted that the safest heartworm prevention is to keep a dog on preventative medicine all year long. Her ideal home would be with a family or retired person who can give her a lot of love time. Another small friendly dog would also be a plus. Diamond has been spayed and fully vetted, microchipped, Frontlined, and is on heartworm preventative. A 1year supply of heartworm preventative will go with her to a new home. Her adoption fee is $350 which includes the transport fee of $125 to get her to CT. If you are interested in this love bug, please E-mail [email protected] and request a questionnaire. A home visit and vet references are required. CT adoptions only.
