Diallo is a strong, confident and a little bit dominant but absolutely gorgeous boy with a lovely chocolate-y black coat with white flashy markings all over him. He wants to love you (sometimes a little too much!). He has mellowed out some with his humping but we called him Don Juan for awhile because he seemed to want to strike a pose with nearly every person he met (and the few dogs we introduced him to)! ;-)
Diallo is a great dog who has a fantastic, outgoing personality. He is going to take time to get used to being a pet, his life in Oklahoma left him with a few physical scars, but none the worse for wear and tear. He’s got a great toy drive and is currently working with a professional trainer to channel his energies into productive structured activities and play rather than obsession with new things! He has not seen much of the world up to this point, so we are slowly introducing him to new things and new ideas so he can learn the ropes and gain more social skills. I’m sure it will take some time for him to adjust to new dogs, so we are taking that very slowly as well.
Diallo’s happy nature reminds us all of how forgiving the APBT breed can be. He was shown the worst in life and yet still finds great pleasure in the company of people and truly lights up our lives to see how resilient he is. He has left his past behind him and isn’t looking back!
There will be much more to come as we update Diallo's bio with progress reports from his trainer/foster home as they get to know him better. Diallo will also get new pictures soon and hopefully show off his flashy bod and super attitude better than these initial photos we took during his first few days with us at the boarding kennels.
