About Me
Characteristics
Playful, Funny, Curious, Affectionate, Friendly, Gentle, Loyal, Smart, Couch Potato, Cuddly, Snorer, still a bit timid
Dezi had been spotted on a mountain trail for over a month. Hikers and nearby homeowners tried in vein to lure the terrified pooch to safety. After many weeks had passed, Dezi was humanely trapped. Dezi was terribly thin, he had recent scarring on the left side of his head and ear, indicating that another dog, or perhaps a coyote, had roughed him up. What was evident was that Dezi has had a hard first year of life. It has taken Dezi some time to decompress. He absolutely loves being off of the mountain and in a home that has established a routine that includes a lot of cuddling, snoring, some romping, a nice walk, and more snoring. Dezi adores cuddling with her fur foster sister and his foster parents. He is an absolute love. We received this follow note from both Dezi and his foster family:
Hi, my name is Dezi!
I wandered lost for weeks until good Samaritans did not give up on me. Today I am convinced that a couch is way more safe, soft and secure than the desert. I am about a year old and am thriving in my new foster care life, but am looking for a furever home. A few more fun facts:
I am a very curious boy and want to learn new things
I am a happy frolicker and may be part hoppy bunny
I have A LOT of energy and want to play play play
I like to chase a ball, still working on the retrieval part though
I am kennel comfortable as long as my people are in view
I am sooooo smart and mischievous but understand "no" even though it can be difficult sometimes
I am about 55 lbs but snore like a 470 lb bear
I am a snuggle bunny with people and pups (I haven't met a cat yet, but I'm open to it!)
I am a sleeping contortionist
I am a lover of bone chewing and treats in my kennel
I am the most softest furbaby there ever was
I hope to meet you soon so we can couch snuggle (did I mention I snore real loud?) and love for a long, long time!
Dezi will need continued training as he does take a moment to warm up to new people. Dezi does love to go on his walks but will need continued training as he gets excited when he passes by dogs. Dezi will make a wonderful companion. As with all rescue dogs, he will need patience and a good routine.
