Dexter

Dexter is a super playful, high energy pup who loves people and playful dogs! He is a mix of working breeds and a very smart boy with a mind of his own. He loves toys and puzzles, walks well on a leash and loves to play with other dogs, but doesn't always have great manners when meeting new dog friends. He would do best in an active home with a family who is familiar with working/herding breeds, no small kids (he jumps and could easily knock over little people) and probably no cats-he's pretty sure cats are just moving toys. A bit more about where Dexter came from: Sweet Dexter has been through a lot in his short life! After being rescued from an overcrowded pound in Texas with his sister, Dee Dee (who has already found a home), we discovered he had a broken leg and needed surgery. No puppy or dog should ever have to go through this, but it is believed Dexter was dropped as a young puppy, or kicked, prior to being dumped at a pound in TX. BUT! This doesn’t get Dexter down. He is a happy go lucky and playful pup, who has only known love since being under our rescue. Dexter did have surgery to repair his injury, and is healing nicely. He has completed 5 hydrotherapy sessions and the physical therapist has recommended he have a few more hydrotherapy sessions to continue building strength (these next few visits will be covered by our rescue).
