Deuce

Deuce is a happy, youthful 8-9 year young collie mix. Sadly, his owner passed away in July and Deuce was taken to the animal shelter. He was passed by day after day as nobody seemed to want to offer him a loving home. Now in ship top shape, this boy is an athlete and can jump right into an SUV from standing position - an act his transporter was not ready for! He loves people, but is not very good with other dogs; it's as if he hasn't really been around a lot of other canines and doesn't know how to behave. Therefore, he'll need a home without other dogs, but he does seem to like cats. As far as humans go though, he has lots of kisses always ready and loves a good chest scratch! He is housetrained, rides well in a car and is not destructive or vocal when left alone. Do you have some love and a good home for our boy Deuce McGoose? Here's what his foster mom says: he's sweet and is well behaved when left alone in the house he loves all people including all ages of children he does pull on the leash when he sees another dog so the person walking him needs to always be on the alert with him he knows how to ask to go out, he will come up to where you are sitting and wags his tail, or will sit near you and give you an intense stares and maybe give you his paw he likes the wellness food soaked with water and sometimes add a packet of salt-free chicken broth or beef broth he enjoys wholesome leftovers, homemade soups, tuna and the water or a chicken weiner, loves cheese of course, he likes carrots raw or cooked and will often eat anything from your hand he can be left alone for a working day and does not bark, is not destructive and is house trained he can do the stairs no problem not showing any signs of discomfort he has not played with or been interested in his toys much he can run - has great mobility, but because of his age we don't go too far or too fast he is smart and can communicate his bathroom needs he understands the command come , do you want to go out, speak, lay down and shake a paw he is loyal and devoted he does not bother you in the bedroom once you turn off all the lights and he realizes you are going to bed for the night if you wake up in the middle of the night be prepared to possibly let him out, he will let you know by a lot of tail wagging or ending up near the door if his leash is within his reach he will bring it to you to go for a walk so its best to put it in a closet or he will bring it over to you every 5 minutes because he loves being outside and is very content to be outside for very long periods of time but not alone he knows his name very well when walking him you need to be on the highest alert for other dogs and as long as you can turn him the other way he will remain calm for whatever reason he is over-stimulated by other dogs has had exposure to cats and doesnt seem to pay them any attention he is a gentle natured, sweet dog who will make a wonderful companion
