Searching for a Hospice adopter. Meet Dax, a courageous 10-month-old black lab mix and a heartwarming hospice pup. He's a smaller boy weighing around 32 pounds. Despite facing a congenital heart defect, Dax's spirit shines brightly and he's in search of a compassionate home that can provide him with the love and care he deserves in his remaining time. Dax' diagnosis: Unfortuntely Dax is not a candidate for surgery. He was diagnosed with a thick right ventricle, severe narrowing in his pulmonic valve. Current treatment consists of two pills a day and keeping him from overexerting himself and of course, lots of love and attention! A little bit about Dax: He is a sweet boy who adores cuddles and being your devoted shadow. His nights are spent sleeping peacefully in his crate. He has mastered potty training but due to the addition of some medications, will need to go out more frequently. This special pup gets along well with other dogs. When with other dogs, a leash is recommended to avoid overexertion because he really wants to run and play. Dax does enjoy exploring solo too and loves toys. Dax is neutered and up to date on all vaccines. Due to Dax not feeling well, it's felt that he may do better with older children since little ones may be a bit overwhelming.
