DAVIS

Davis is a great dog. He is affectionate, and protective of his family. With love, patience and firm but gentle training he will be a wonderful family pet or working dog. He would also be great as an indoor family pet as long as he gets enough exercise and mental stimulation. Davis appears to have had some training at some point in his life. He adapted to our home and family right away. We have a 13 year old dog with hip dysplasia and he seemed to immediately understand that she was family and has respected her place. This is not to say that he wouldn't love to have all the attention himself. He is housebroken. Generally he responds to sit, watch, stay, bed, and will come when called most of the time. I have even been able to call him off when he was chasing rabbits in the yard. Don't get me wrong, all of this wonderful behavior is not 100% consistent, but he is doing very well in my opinion. Walking on a leash is a work in progress. We have been working on loose leash walking' and the pulling is less frequent, but all bets are off if he sees a bike rider, jogger or another dog. We are working on this and I see some improvement, I am five, foot one inch tall and in my 70s and can still handle him (though it's a job).
