Meet Darla! **Age:** 4 years **Breed:** 50% English Setter, Possibly 50% Bernese Mountain Dog **Gender:** Female **Color:** Tri Color Darla's journey has been a challenging one, but her spirit remains unbroken. This beautiful girl, half English Setter and possibly half Bernese Mountain Dog, was adopted as a puppy in 2020. Sadly, she has returned to the shelter in very poor condition, severely underweight and covered in mats. This is a stark reminder of why we have an adoption application process--because even though we try our best to ensure our animals find loving homes, people are still people and nothing is guaranteed. Our hearts are broken for our sweet girl, but we are determined to get it right this time. Despite everything she's been through, Darla is incredibly loving and mild-mannered. She takes life in stride and is ready to give her heart to a new family. Darla's sweet nature shines through, making her a wonderful companion for anyone willing to give her the care and love she deserves. Her new owner will need to be mindful of her long coat, which requires regular brushing and grooming to keep her comfortable and looking her best. Additionally, Darla will need patience as she learns house training in her new environment.
