Darcy (FL)

Darcy, 3 yrs old, located in Florida Rescue ID: 240244-P-B-MS Intake Date : 02/15/2024 Available Date : 05/15/2024 Darcy is as Sweet as she is Beautiful. She comes to us from Mississippi where her owner wanted her to be euthanized because she tested positive for heartworms. Darcy didn’t cause herself to get Heartworms, it was because her owner didn’t put her on monthly heartworm preventative. The veterinarian refused to euthanize her, and rescue help was secured. Now this sweetpea of just 3 years of age is getting treatment for Heartworms. She is on restricted activity; leash walk, gentle play time and crate rest until May. Darcy gets along with other dogs and cats and loves to race around the yard (Prior to treatment and will be allowed again in May). She crates easily and has a great appetite. She is around 35 lbs and good on a leash. She is generally very well behaved. She is uncertain about cars, but rides well once she is loaded up and ready to ride. Loud sharp noises startle her, like loud engines and lawn mower machinery. Darcy will be ready for a home in May, after the completion of her heartworm treatment and activity restriction period.
