Darcy

Darcy was found as a stray by animal control and brought to the shelter, so we don't know her history. She is friendly with people and dogs, as long as she is not cornered or pressured. Still has a lot of energy as she is a younger dog. UPDATE: Darcy has been diagnosed with Addison's Disease and will need to be on medication the rest of her life. This is a monthly injection and her electrolytes will have to be checked periodically. Since she has been diagnosed and kept on her medication, her weight has stabilized and she is her happy self, again. A little about Addison's Disease: Addison's Disease in dogs occurs when the adrenal glands stop functioning properly, preventing them from producing the hormones they need. This can affect the dog's stress response and electrolyte balance, and can be caused by a number of factors, including injury, tumors, medication, diseases, or immune-mediated disease.
