Darby II

Meet Darby!! Darby is a 2 to 4 year old male Dandie Dinmont Terrier. Dandies are a breed of terrier. Their bodies are low and long. They have long drooping ears and a puffy hair do on their heads. The most unique thing about the Dandie Dimonts are their large brown eyes. Darby has those beautiful brown eyes but sadly Darby was shaved and he doesn’t sport a cute dandie haircut at the moment. Darby’s hair is somewhat softer than a normal dandie so it will take a little work to get the proper “poof” on his head but that doesn’t certainly doesn’t take away from his cute personality. Darby is very affectionate and he immediately rolls over onto his back when he wants to be petted. He also runs in tight little circles when he is excited so he can show you how much he loves you. Darby wants to be the alpha dog and sometimes will growl at other dogs but for the most part he gets along well with everyone. He is very curious about cats but hasn’t tried to hurt the one in his foster home. He doesn’t care much about outside or toys or playing with other dogs but he is all about being with his humans, he loves people and wants to always be near your side. Darby’s pictures aren’t a good color but he is a mix between gray and mustard which are the two standard colors for a dandie dinmont. Dandies are very rare as they aren’t usually more than 100 pups born each year in the USA. Combine that with his great personality and you will have a wonderful dog!! Darby is not 100% on his potty training but he is still learning and doing pretty well. Darby is fostered in the OKC area. He would love to come and be your snuggle buddy! Oklahoma Westie Rescue will only adopt to applicants who reside within the following states: OK, AR, MO, KS and TX. If you live outside these areas OR if you have children under the age of 10, please do not apply for this dog.

We do not ship our pets. If you are interested in this dog please click here for our adoption application. Be prepared to travel to Tulsa, OK, or Oklahoma City, OK, to pick up this dog in person if your application is approved.
