Dapple Dan aka "Tonka" has been through a lot of hardship in his life and has recently made some incredible transformations since he has been with his foster family. With a lot of love and some training he has learned to trust and be part of a family, and it is obvious everyday how much he truly appreciates the care that he is now receiving. Tonka has a big heart and really wants to please. He loves to play and be silly and becomes very proud of himself when you give him toys. He absolutely loves to play with other dogs, play fetch and is especially fond of his stuffed animals but absolutely no cats because he does have a prey drive.
He has been crate trained and knows basic commands but is also currently undergoing some more intensive training and has been doing extremely well. Tonka is a very loving dog and really thrives on having a routine and discipline followed by lots of affection and exercise. He is very powerful and needs an adopter with dog experience to continue his training as well as a high fence if he is going to be in a yard because he is quite the athlete and can jump very high. Once you spend some time with Tonka you can't resist him! He is very handsome and has a great personality to go with his rugged good looks.
