Hello there! I'm Dane, a charming 3-year-old retriever mix with a heart full of love and a soul that's ready to trust again. I weigh a handsome 43 pounds, have mastered house training, and I'm an absolute champ in my kennel and on a leash! I'm a social butterfly with dogs and cats and I'm good with older, respectful children who understand I need a minute to adjust. My ideal home could be an apartment or a house, as I'm quite adaptable. I'd thrive in a home that enjoys trips to the dog park, doggy daycare, or any fenced-in area where I can safely play and explore. I also know the command "sit," and I'm eagerly learning more! Due to my past in a hoarding situation, I do best in a calm environment where I can gradually build on my trust of humans. Sudden noises and quick movements make me a bit nervous, but with patience and understanding, I blossom into the sweetest companion. Once I warm up I become incredibly affectionate. I absolutely adore my people and always want to be by your side, offering my loyal and loving presence.
