My Story

DALLAS Dallas is a very handsome Rott-Dobe mix that was brought to Illinois by his former owners from Texas. He was put in an old pick-up truck cab and towed here in the middle of August with no air-conditioning. Upon arrival he promptly escaped from this prison. Relatives of his owners were shocked at his emaciated condition and promptly called the authorities. He was then placed in the able care of the Geneseo Humane Society. Through the generosity of a local vet, Dallas has undergone treatment for 2 types of mange, yeast infection, heartworm, and hypothyroidism. He is now a happy, healthy 3- 4 year old neutered male looking for his forever home. He is totally housebroken and crate trained. He walks nice on leash, sits, downs, shakes hands and has learned to sit and wait at the door and for his food. All of this in only a couple of weeks of sporadic training. He is very sweet and loves to be petted. He loves to play and gets along well with kids and other dogs. Dallas is very anxious to say "Howdy" to his new family and to continue his education (learning is so much fun!)
