Dakota was recently rescued by PSBR from a puppy mill and is still scared of different situations and unfamiliar people, but is adjusting and learning quite quickly. Overall he is a very good and friendly little boy who recently discovered the comforts of the sofa, and absolutely loves it! He also enjoys the many dog beds we have around the house. He has latched on to his foster Dad and follows him everywhere. He loves to cuddle with is foster Dad and wags his tail for him. Dakota is such a sweetie! Dakota is doing very well with housebreaking, and has no messes if put out on a regular schedule. He also eats very well. Dakota gets along well with his canine foster siblings too.
It is recommended that Dakota be placed in a quiet home where he will be given time to adjust to the new surroundings and people. He is a great little dog and will make a good companion for a loving family that will give him time to adjust. Dakota is scheduled to have some dental work done and be neutered the week of January 19, 2009, but will be able to join a new home following his recovery.
Update January 21- Dakota's neutering and dental work went well, and he is happy to be resting back at home. His teeth were quite bad and he required some extractions. All is good now though.
Update January 24 - Dakota's progress continues. Today he had many human visitors and did not shy away from them at all! In fact he took it upon himself to approach them and say hi.
