ABOUT DAKOTA
Dakota is a 6 year old shepherd mix that is loving life in foster! He came to HAP after his owners had a baby and he became too stressed in the home. However, he did do very well with their other children. Understandably, after 6 years in a home, Dakota was very anxious and uncomfortable in a shelter environment. We knew he needed a foster placement, as he was at risk of self-injury due to his high stress levels in a kennel. Dakota is now in foster and doing amazing back in a home environment! Check out what his foster has to say about him:
"Dakota has been doing great in my home. He LOVES cars and looking out windows. He would do great in a home that likes to travel or be outdoors. He loves his stuffed animals, I bought him a bunch and he doesn't rip them at all. His favorite is his little frog from HAP and the sheep i bought him. He likes to pull blankets off the couch and sleep in the ground with them, so cute. I have left him out of his crate the entire time he's been with me. He can be trusted, he doesn't steal anything off the counters which is GREAT. He's 1000% house trained and doesn't make any messes. When he's REALLY excited he sticks up both ears. He's such a good boy and I hope this finds him a home!" - Katie, Dakota's foster
