My Story

This award-winning smile belongs to the happiest girl, Dakota! Dakota has found her way back to the shelter and cannot wait till she finds her forever home and gets back to enjoying all that life has to offer. She loves toys, playing in the backyard, and walks. This girl is loving summer and especially loves when she gets to enjoy some fresh watermelon! She is crate trained, housebroken, and good on her leash, and has excellent car manners. She can even sit, shake, and lie down on command! Dakota does well with other dogs and children. She has not been around cats other than walking in the neighborhood, but doesn't pay them much attention. She is not aggressive towards squirrels or rabbits. She is ready for a family to love! Dakota can be reserved when meeting new people. She likes to take her time to get to know you, but once she does it is all kisses and cuddles. One of her favorite places to be is snuggled up right next to you! Dakota attends playgroups daily where she enjoys hanging out with other gentle and mellow pups. She would love to meet any potential canine siblings before heading home to ensure it is a great match! On her adventure out of the shelter for the day, we have learned that she is great car rider, preferring to ride shotgun! She did great while out on a walk and calmly strolled along. Dakota also knows how to take treats like a pro - nice and gentle! Dakota was able to have another day away from the shelter and here is what they had to say, "We had a great day with Dakota and our two junior volunteers (ages 7 and 10)! She loved running with our 10 year old and might be a good jogging partner. She also loved laying down for belly rubs. Dakota may take a few minutes to warm up but when she does she is playful, loving, and wonderful with children. We think she would be a great family dog." Dakota is currently living in a foster home. If you would like to learn more about her or want to meet her please email [email protected] Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
