My Story

Please meet sweet Daisy Mae. She's a stray who showed up outside her foster’s house and lived with a homeless man for about 2-1/2 months. A kind vet removed her from the situation and helped place her in her current foster home. Despite the previous abuse she is so sweet and LOVES people. She was house trained in only about 2 weeks! She is very smart and eager to please and is already going outside. Im still paying close attention but we've had zero accidents for the last few days, she's even been taking herself outside without us prompting...hoorah She is a velcro dog, loooooves humans and would work well with a friendly dog. She just wants to play and be friends. Daisy is quickly learning that the crate is a relaxing and safe place. She would be just the best companion dog. Especially if someone works from home or if she had another doggie to keep her company. She is such a happy little girl. From Daisy... "I am between 1-2 years old - I’ve been spayed & chipped’ have all my shots, and am on my way to being fully house trained. I listen well and respond well to rewards and positive reinforcement training. I can sit and stay, I now understand when my human asks if I want to go outside. I also recognize and enjoy the praise I get when I go outside. I LOVE to go on walks and walk well on a leash, also with other dogs. I have a bit of puppy energy at times but am really very calm and love to nap in the company of my doggie and human foster family as much as possible. I‘m inquisitive around cats and want to follow and play .. not aggressive tho. Same with kids, however because I am a puppy - if there were kids I would be best suited to an older (maybe 7 and older) as they usually better understand boundaries and are more gentle. I need a loving furever home with kind humans and accepting happy animals. Will you please consider me?" Ms. Daisy Mae is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by foster, not by DFWRM.
