My Story

Meet Daisy Daisy was dumped across the street from her finders/foster home - her fosters saw the car pull off as she chased behind. She was starving; they could count all of her ribs and vertebrae. She had heartworm, hookworm, and skin and ear infections. With a lot of love and time, Daisy has become a healthy, happy girl. Though she has been treated for heartworm, she is not yet heartworm negative. She is otherwise up to date on all shots, spayed, and ready to go home! If you…. -chill as hard as you play; -prefer a living body pillow; -feel the need to build your tug-of-war muscles; -need a fierce protector; -love a pittie smile on a boulder-sized head and a potato body; -want a dog attached to your hip like glue… Daisy is your girl!! Daisy’s foster mom describes Daisy as “a good dog but not an easy dog.” That may turn some people off of Daisy, but we recognize that we’re looking for a special home here. Daisy’s perfect home may have cats or big kids but cannot -have any other dogs. Her foster home has three resident dogs. While she gets along with one of them (under strict supervision and with a muzzle), she is kept separated from the other two. This means that Daisy currently lives in a crate for the majority of the day. She deserves to be in a home where she can be with her beloved humans as much as possible. Daisy’s perfect home may be in the country or a neighborhood, but her humans would be advised to muzzle her when there is any chance of meeting other dogs (muzzle included with adoption). Daisy is still wary of new people but is very open to bribery with treats. With more time, love, and training, her foster moms believe she could go anywhere with her humans (and she would!). Daisy needs a family with lots of patience and unconditional love, she has been through a lot, who knows what abuse her previous "owners" subjected her to in additional to malnutrition. The vision of her chasing her abandoners car is just heartbreaking. She truly is a sweetheart and deserves a second chance. Her Foster Mom has done so much to help get her this far, she is a true angel. Daisy is currently located in Victoria, TX. Transport can be arranged to any of the continental United States. If you are interested in Daisy and are willing to assist with transport, please let us know! We would also consider a new foster home for Daisy if needed, preferably in Vermont (or TX), as her current foster is maxed out. Contact Claire at 713-306-4804 for more information about Daisy ? Contact Nichole with PCAR for more info about adopting Daisy. 802-497-4842 Adoption fee will be discussed on a case-by-case basis, depending on transport needs, and other similar factors. She is currently in Texas while we, PCAR, are in Vermont. We would love to find her a beautiful home in Vermont but can assist her adoption and transport to any other state.
